Jo March isn’t your typical Victorian lady. She’s indecorous and headstrong, and one day she’s going to be a great American novelist. As she and her sisters grow up in the middle of the Civil War, they strive to be brave, intelligent, and imaginative young women. But as adulthood approaches, each sister must negotiate her private ambitions with society’s expectations. In a war-torn world defined by gender, class, and personal tragedy, Jo March gives us her greatest story: that of the March sisters, four dreamers destined to be imperfect little women.

A father thousands of miles away from his son creates an alternate world to help him cope with the anxiety, depression and desperation of separation. The imagination perseveres, but sometimes at the cost of reality.
We feel that there is a dearth of good storytelling that investigates the complexity of long-distance relationships between fathers and sons. Through truth and imagination, planet b234 explores the borders between reality and perception and the perfectly imperfect ways we express love.
Thanks to our incredible community who contributed and help spread the word, our Indiegogo campaign was 100% funded. Festival updates are available on our website: planetb234.com.
'by wing, fin, hoof or foot' is a new piece of physical-theatre that uses the simplicity and reliability of migrating animals to explore the complex and fluctuating rules of immigration, representation, private narratives of public spaces and vice versa. Tension and unity are collapsed and expanded at the points where these migrations intersect.
This simultaneously personal and public exploration considers the migrations and immigrations of animals and humans- particularly the body in transit. The ensemble has drawn from science, history, lore and autobiography to identify the stops, starts, pushes and pulls of individual and group mobility.
This piece is directed by Producing Artistic Director Keelie Sheridan and marks The Ume Group's first collaboration with Stuttgart-based scenic/costume designer Valentin Peter Eisele.
'by wing, fin, hoof or foot' will run at the Church of Grace & St. Paul on W 71st. Street in NYC from June 2nd - June 24th, 2017.

How much surveillance are we willing to accept? How much pollution? How much corporate malfeasance? Provoking what Reyes calls “political catharsis,” this immersive artwork distilled the horrors of our political landscape into the form of a haunted house, inviting us to navigate a maze of near apocalyptic torments, from climate change to pandemic gun violence to GMOs. Visitors to Doomocracy worked their way through a labyrinth of rooms, exploring the depth and breadth of American political anxieties.
'Doomocracy' occurred at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in October & November of 2016, produced by Creative Time.

'how do we belong together?' placed pairings of people in front of the authorial eye of passersby. Spectators were asked to anonymously narrate a relationship between the subjects based solely on appearance.
This piece explores how the bodies of performers and civilians communicate meaning through simple movement. 'how do we belong together?' is a celebration, interrogation and meditation on perception and assumption in one of the world's most diverse cities.

A pair of Christmas tree salesmen have come to wreak havoc in NYC. A pair of detectives are bent on catching the killer. A young woman finds herself drawn into their cat-and-mouse games and transformed in ways she could never have imagined. Well, maybe she could’ve. Meanwhile, wild animals have been sighted in the vacant lot across the street. Are they dogs? Raccoons? Or something more ferocious?

"And now you’re here. I saw you. The camera saw you. And by the way, might I add, you all look terrific. You really do. You look happy. You look together."
He turns to take a selfie with the audience. Flash.
"I was there, too. I mean, I am here, too. Now. With you. The camera saw us. We’re happy. We’re together. We’re a part of something. And I have proof. "

Dead mountain mouth of carious teeth that cannot spit
. . .
If there were water
And no rock
If there were rock
And also water
And water
A spring
A pool among the rock
If there were the sound of water only
. . .
But there is no water
