"Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience," -Sir Francis Bacon. I estimate myself to be straddling those two worlds. In late December/ early January, I hopped a plane to Dublin alone and spent a few weeks traveling up to Northern Ireland and then making my way down the west coast. The purpose of this trip was an ambiguous cocktail of pleasure and business. I have long considered applying for a Fulbright Scholarship to spend a year in Ireland devising a piece about Irish history, dance and language. My solo journey allowed me to make more connections than I ever could have anticipated and I find myself in an excellent position to begin the daunting task of completing a Fulbright application.
Did you know I also photograph and travel write? It's true. Check out my newest endeavor down this route here: Off The Beaten Sidewalk.
